7. What’s a common mistake when buying Samsung SDI for the first time?

Assuming the battery and the BMS come as a perfectly integrated unit. I said “recommended BMS.” They heard “any BMS from the catalog.” Result: we had compatibility problems for two weeks.

For Samsung SDI cells, they strongly recommend using their approved BMS or a certified third-party one (like from Pylontech or BSLBATT). Mixing and matching can void the warranty. Not ideal, but workable once you know the rule.

Bottom line: Samsung SDI is a solid choice for commercial and industrial ESS. But like any vendor, trust requires transparency. Ask the right questions, get it in writing, and verify current pricing (as of Q1 2025 – always confirm).
